Chris Place

An incredible little taverna in the heart of the village! The food was absolutely delicious — traditional Greek dishes cooked with love and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, from the grilled meats to the homemade sides. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing, with tables outsides. The family who runs the place was so warm and welcoming. It really felt like eating at someone’s home. Highly recommend if you want to experience real Greek hospitality and authentic village cooking. A true hidden gem!

Highly recommended experience for those looking for authentic Greek cuisine. Myself and my partner visited Chris’ place to celebrate our anniversary and were left wanting nothing. Absolutely fantastic service, friendly, informative and accommodating. We loved the Moussaka and Sofrito - made by the lovely Sofia herself, our hostess with the mostest. The view was breathtaking, delightful ambience and the sweetest company if you’re partial to feline friends.

The lovely village of Pendati isn't the easiest to reach, the road is narrow and steep, but is is really worth it, the village is charming and offers a stunning view over the bay. And Sofia proposes the best food in her restaurant with a lovely terrace overlooking the bay and the sunset. You MUST try her mousaka, you have never eaten one like this. It is the best! And the rest of the menu, all classic Greek recipes done perfectly and with a twist in their seasoning to make them unique, is very good. Everything we tried was excellent, and Anastasia (Sofia's niece) provides good advice and recommendations, in a perfect English. In the late morning/early afternoon you can enjoy a Greek breakfast menu. Thank you Sofia and Anastasia to make our stay in Agios Gordios a feast! Adorable local cats are visiting the terrace, they are fed and taken care of by the inhabitants of the village. They shouldn't eat human food, but if you have cat treats in your bag, they give the best cuddles!

I had a wonderful experience at Chris Place. The food is authentic Greek, full of fresh flavors and truly delicious. The service was warm and welcoming, and the sea view created a beautiful atmosphere. What made the visit extra special was Sofia, the lovely owner, who treated us like family and made us feel right at home. With fair prices and such genuine hospitality, this place is a real gem. A visit to Sofias Taverna in Pentati is much more than just a dinner—it's an experience for all the senses. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by a breathtaking ambiance. The view from the terrace over the sea and the island is simply unforgettable, creating a magical atmosphere you won't easily find anywhere else. ​The food is an absolute highlight. The kitchen serves traditional dishes with a quality that is second to none. The homemade tzatziki, which is both creamy and fresh, is especially noteworthy, as are the Pastitsada and the Moussaka. Both main courses are perfectly seasoned and prepared, so you can taste the love and dedication in every bite. ​But the true heart of the taverna is the staff. Their friendliness and warm service are remarkable and exceed all expectations. You immediately feel welcome and like part of the family. The attentiveness and courteousness of the team make the stay a completely perfect experience. ​If you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine, a spectacular view, and above all, heartfelt hospitality, you will find it at Sofias Taverna. An absolute must for every visitor to Corfu!

Great moussaka, the best I've ever had in my life! On top of that, an amazing view of the Ionian Sea and incredibly kind and friendly staff. If you get the chance, definitely take a break there for a meal and to soak in the view.

We loved Chris’s n Sofia’s Place! It has a beautiful view and the local Greek cuisine they serve is delicious, pastitsada and sofrito were the best! Service is also very friendly and fast. There is parking next to the restaurant. Recommend it!
